Life At Glance: with M. Andika Putra

1. Highlight your journey at Glance. 

I started my journey at Glance in November 2021 as a sub-editor for NOVO, drawn by the company's reputation for innovation and quality. I dedicated myself to ensuring accuracy and high editorial standards, which led to my promotion to senior editor after about two years. This promotion was a proud moment for me, reflecting both my growth and Glance’s confidence in my abilities. 

As a senior editor, I’m now deeply involved in curating, editing, and publishing content for NOVO. Working alongside a fantastic team to produce impactful content has been incredibly fulfilling. Glance’s culture of excellence and focus on continuous improvement has inspired me to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to our success. 

2. What were your first impressions of Glance, and how have you seen yourself grow since joining? 

When I first joined Glance, I was impressed by the exceptional working environment. From the start, I felt welcomed and valued, with a supportive atmosphere that encouraged my growth and exploration of new responsibilities. 

Glance’s openness to discussing policies and valuing employee input empowered me to engage confidently with my colleagues and superiors. This supportive environment has allowed me to expand my skills and embrace new challenges, fuelling my creativity and passion for my work. 

3. Can you share a personal story that highlights how Glance's programs or initiatives have aided your professional development? 

One of the most impactful programs for me has been the annual 1-on-1 career planning sessions at Glance Indonesia. These meetings have been instrumental in helping me set clear goals and receive valuable guidance from my superiors. 

The structured feedback and goal-setting process, with reviews every six months, have also played a crucial role in my development. This feedback has helped me adapt and grow, leading to advancements into leadership roles and skill enhancement. Glance’s commitment to career development through learning opportunities and mentorship has enriched my professional journey. 

4. How do you reflect on your fast-tracker journey at Glance? 

Reflecting on my fast-tracker journey at Glance, it has been a deeply rewarding experience. I have been given challenging projects that have accelerated my learning and allowed me to contribute significantly to the company’s goals. 

The support and guidance from mentors and colleagues have been invaluable, fostering a collaborative environment where teamwork and innovative ideas thrive. Looking ahead, I’m excited about the potential for continued growth and development, and I’m eager to keep honing my skills and making a positive impact within Glance.

6. In what ways has Glance supported your work-life balance? 

Glance has been fantastic in supporting my work-life balance with its flexible and accommodating approach. The company understands that personal responsibilities sometimes require adjustments in work arrangements, whether it is for family matters, education, or health issues. 

For instance, when I needed to handle personal emergencies or remarkable events, Glance provided the flexibility I needed to manage both my professional duties and personal tasks effectively. This level of understanding has enhanced my job satisfaction and overall well-being. 

7. Can you provide an example of how the company has assisted you during a significant life event? 

One of the ways Glance has supported me during significant life events is by consistently approving my leave requests, whether for illness or personal breaks. This respectful approach has been reassuring and made me feel valued. 

A memorable example was when I needed to oversee house inspections for a property I had purchased. Glance allowed me to work from home during this time, which helped me balance my work and personal responsibilities seamlessly. This level of flexibility and understanding has had a profound impact on my work-life balance and overall well-being. 

8. What projects have you been involved in at Glance, and what impact did they have on the company and its customers? 

At Glance, I have been involved in several projects as a senior editor for NOVO, with the Ramadan project being particularly impactful. We created special Ramadan cards with unique designs and a tailored hashtag, which significantly boosted engagement and received positive feedback from users. 

This project highlighted Glance’s ability to deliver culturally sensitive and meaningful content, enhancing both our business performance and customer experience. It showed our commitment to celebrating cultural diversity and connecting with our audience on a deeper level. 

9. What are you most proud of during your time at Glance? 

 One of my proudest achievements at Glance is being promoted from sub-editor to senior editor. This milestone was a significant affirmation of the hard work and dedication I had put into my role. It reassured me that my contributions, including maintaining high editorial standards and fostering team collaboration, were recognized, and valued. 

10. What are your aspirations for the future, and how do you see your career evolving at Glance? 

Looking ahead, I aspire to be a dependable and skilled professional at Glance, known for delivering high-quality work and contributing effectively to our goals. I’m committed to continuous growth, eager to leverage learning opportunities, expand my expertise, and embrace new challenges.
